The same machine that makes a driveway look new can ruin siding. The difference is pressure and distance.
Not everything takes the same pressure
The most common mistake is treating a wall like a driveway. Concrete handles pressures that would leave permanent marks on wood, vinyl or stucco.
What we use, by surface
- Concrete and pavers: high pressure, which they take without trouble.
- Stucco, vinyl and wood: soft wash — more detergent, less force.
- Roofs: never pressure. Chemical and rinse only.
Signs of a bad wash
Stripes running with the direction of the wand, lighter streaks where the nozzle got closer, or wood fiber raised. None of the three can be fixed by washing again.
If you can see the passes when it dries, the pressure was too high.
On properties near the water we recommend an annual soft wash: it takes off accumulated salt before it starts working on the finish.
